Congratulations Monsignor Robert Hartnett

This weekend, our Pastor, Msgr. Bob Hartnett, received a special Papal honor from Cardinal O’Brien by being inducted into the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Msgr. Bob was nominated for this honor by Archbishop Lori in recognition for his tireless efforts throughout the Archdiocese as Pastor of several parishes, as director of the Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat House, as executive director of planning for the Archdiocese and his passionate belief in Catholic Education!

The Order of the Holy Sepulchre is an ancient Order of Chivalry of the Roman Catholic Church under the personal protection of the Holy Father. In ancient times a Knight of the Order was expected to take up his sword and fight for the rights of Christians in the Holy Land. Today the Church has entrusted to the Knights and Ladies of the Order the apostolate of maintaining the Christian presence in the Holy Land and through prayer, good works, and charity to promote the cause of justice and peace in the land made holy by the footsteps of Our Lord.
