Kaindoh Attracts National Attention
As the winter season winds down, excitement continues to buzz throughout the Mount Carmel campus. Both the Men's and Women's Basketball teams will be representing the school in the league championships this upcoming Sunday for the MIAA and IAAM respectively.
The excitement does not stop there though, sophomore football standout Joshua Kaindoh has received national attention from some of the country's top football programs. As recently as Monday, head football coach Daryl Jackson and Josh have been on the phone with BCS powerhouses looking to add Josh to their future rosters. The last three BCS Champions, Alabama ('13), Florida State ('14), and Ohio State ('15) have all reached out to Josh this past week. Florida State and Ohio State have seen enough in Josh already, each offering him a scholarship. Penn State of the Big 10 and the University of Florida of the SEC have also joined in the recruiting conversation.
"It has been a crazy week and a lot of this was unexpected, but I cannot express how blessed and thankful I am to be in this position," Josh said. "It's definitely exciting, but I still have a lot of work to do in the classroom and on the football field."
At 6'6 and 220 pounds, Josh clearly has the look of a top caliber football prospect. He plies his trade as a defensive end, routinely pressuring opposing quarterbacks, setting the edge, and making offensive lineman lose sleep at night. A physical specimen without a doubt, however here on campus it is Josh's character, humility, and maturity off the field that has impressed us the most.
To quote Coach Jackson, "It's a great time to be a COUGAR!"
