Mount Carmel Welcomes New President
On June 16, 2016, the Most Reverend Archbishop William E. Lori appointed Mr. Lawrence Callahan as the next President of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. Mr. Callahan assumed the duties of President on July 1, 2016.
Mr. Callahan’s commitment to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Catholic education is evident through his years of service on Mount Carmel’s School Board. He is a former Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and the Archdiocese of Washington. He is the founder and managing partner of Education Strategies, a consulting firm that focuses on strategic planning, leadership and board development, school marketing, and administrator search and selection.
Mr. Callahan is a member of the State of Maryland Governor’s Advisory Council, the Board of Trustees for the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and the State of Maryland Physical Fitness Commission. Mr. Callahan’s extensive experience also includes serving as Blue Ribbon Site Visitor for the U.S. Department of Education and serving on the Executive Committees of the Maryland Catholic Conference, the NCEA Department of Boards and Councils, and CACE.
